TEXAS FANS DON'T MISS THIS CONCERT, ESCAPE THE DOWNTOWN HUSTLE AND BUSTLE WITH SEASON MUSIC

It's a downtown San Antonio tradition that many find rejuvenating. It's called midday  noels

"Midday Noels is what we call our gift to the city," says Tom Dooling, the Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church.

As to those Noels—the music played is definitely seasonal. And this Thursday is their last concert of the season.

"On Dec. 17, we are really honored this year to have with us Freedom Brass from the Air Force here in town, and they're going to perform a brass quintet program. Five players, and just a variety of pieces, including some Christmas pieces as well, too."

The concert starts at 12:10 and is 30-40 minutes long. If you think a noon-time concert might take a bite out of lunch, Dooling's got a fix for that.

"Afterwards, if folks want to stay for a full hot meal of wonderful preparation it's $8. Or if you've got to grab lunch and get back to work we will sell you a little bag lunch, and within the course of an hour you can enjoy a concert and have your lunch."

"So is this the kind-of downtown stress relief program?" TPR's Jack Morgan asked.

"Oh, absolutely it is. We'll have  a lot of folks who will bring several folks from their office, and they'll kind of come as a group, and they'll enjoy the concert and then they'll eat lunch together."

And if you just want to come and hear the music, it's "Absolutely free!" he said emphatically.
