BREAKING NEWS! GOV'SHIP RE-RUN:UDOM REPORTEDLY COERCES FORMER LG CHAIRMEN FOR SUPPORT.. MEETING ONGOING AT EMMJM HOTELS

Report just coming in now has indicated that the state government has gathered the former Local Government Council chairmen across the 31 LGAs at EMMJIM Hotels, Dominic Utuk street, where they are being coerced to issue a press statement in favour of Udom Emmanuel’s administration as grassroot leaders of the PDP in the state and the meeting is ongoing, Radar newspaper can authoritatively report.

The former council chairmen had met severally including last weekend in a hotel of a former chairman, who is one of the arrowheads of the meeting, along two lane, Edet Akpan Vanue, Uyo, but there was a sharp disagreement among members, who expressed anger and disappointment that Udom Emmanuel’s government has not carried them along since inception despite their efforts and support before, during and after the election, Radar newspaper learnt.

Our sources who pleaded anonymity, hinted that even though they issue the statement today and get their own share of the “cake” from the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s government, it would make no difference because things have already fallen apart in the state PDP, adding that the moment the Supreme Court’s judgement favours the opposition APC in the state, they will all move to the APC.

They said that the weekend meeting failed to yield any result because they insisted of presenting their demands to the governor in person, and get immediate response from Udom Emmanuel, who was not in the state at that time, before they could issue the press statement.

It would be recalled that some of the former local government council chairmen have defected to APC recently while there are moves that some of them will soon join. Those who have decamped from PDP to APC include: that of Itu, Michael Etim; Uyo, Ekerete Ekpenyong; Ibesikpo Asutan, Ekpe James; Eket, Aniekan Akpan and that of Udung Uko.
